A biography of Bil Mar Foods, co-founder Marvin DeWitt

Written by Michael Lozon

The De Witt brothers' original 17 turkeys raising effort grew to more than 6,000 birds, subsequently becoming a Michigan turkey empire, and then one the largest of its kind in all of the USA. In 1987, its final year of operation under the De Witts, Bil Mar Foods had gross sales of nearly $200 million and shipped product throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. By that time, the company employed 2,400 in Borculo, outside Zeeland (both communities founded and named by 1840s Dutch immigrant settlers), and its two smaller sites in Iowa and Ohio.

Hardcover with jacket, 290 pages, richly illustrated, bibliography, chronology, DeWitt family's genealogy (traced back to the 1840s Groningen village of Eenrum)
