Essays on the Teachings of Dr. Klaas Schilder

Edited by J. Geertsema

This informative book 'Always Obedient' is an eye opener. " It is a delight to be Reformed" wrote Dutch theologian Klaas Schilder (1890-1952), a man whose life and work demonstrated unwavering loyalty to Biblical authority. Schilder believed that not an inch of human life about which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not proclaim, "Mine".

At the centre of a decades-long controversy in the Netherlands, Schilder, appointed unanimously by the church's Synod in 1933 to teach at the Kampen’s seminary, was deposed by GKN’s synod in 1944. The move prompted a major schism in the Reformed churches. Many people had strong opinions, for or against Schilder. But what the theologian taught, was mostly obscured in the debate.

This book by an international team of authors, lifts the veil on five crucial issues Schilder brought forward: The Covenant, Christ and Culture, the Church, Heaven, and Revelation, all well within the confines of Scripture and the Confessions.
