The author was a very unlikely resistance leader: a gentle preacher.

As a minister he was known for his evangelistic zeal. Yet when the ‘School Conflict’, with the Nazi collaborating Dutch Department of Education erupted - the officials wanted to control the hiring of Christian school principals and fill any vacancies with Nazi sympathizers - he did not yield, showing himself to be a man of strong Christian faith and principles.

In his story he tells of how the Nazis arrested him, and eventually sent him off to the notorious concentration camp Dachau. It was there that he and other pastors continued their resistance against the Nazi ideals.

Hardcover, 250 pages, Illustrated.
