The William of Orange Christian School (WoOCS) made memorable history a number of times: in 1955 it was the first parental elementary school established by families belonging to a Canadian Reformed Church (CanRC), it was also after 65 years, in 2021, the first with the CanRC federation to disband, largely due to its membership migrating away from its high-priced urbanized environment. In the years in between, the school, for a similar reason, also migrated, in 1974, from its original Burnaby, BC location to Cloverdale, BC.

The school's history of it first 25 years of operation was superbly documented in an anniversary book. At its 50th anniversary, the women's auxiliary published a cookbook with numerous fine culinary suggestions all waiting to be explored by a larger audience. (How about the 'Coming to Canada' stew by Anita, and, wait, the 'Grasshopper Pie' as a Kids Dessert, by the Pol Boys, who seemingly failed to find the grasshopper ingredient.)

In between, in 1979, the school's 177 pupils of the 1978-9 school year recorded a LP, Hosanna', at Surrey's Maranatha CanRC of which a limited number of copies are still available with this WoOCS Memory bundle.

Included in the bundle:

* WoOCS 1955-1980 anniversary book, paperback, 68 pages, richly illustrated with a collection of rare pioneer images

  • 50th Anniversary Cookbook, 196 pages, illustrated, glossary of terms, 5-page recipe index
  • Hosanna, with accompaniment by F. Admiraal (piano), S. VanderPloeg, organ (pick up at book shop, if to be shipped an extra charge for packaging)
