A collection of volumes of the best literature, ancient mediaeval and modern, with biographical and explanatory notes. The Royal Edition was limited to 1,000 sets, this set being number 808, and should not be confused with the Author's Edition and the Librarians Edition of the same series. Copyright and printing dates from 1899. Each volume measures 10.25"x7.25" (26x18.5x about 4cm).
Richard Garnett (1853-1906) was a British librarian and author and was employed at the British Museum.
