The Heidelberg Catechism, Part 1

Life in Christ series

Written by Warren H. Lammers

A 25-lesson course on the first half of the Heidelberg Catechism (HC), created for High School (Grades 9 through 12). The author states among his acknowledgements how he turned time and again to the HC with its proof texts to introduce newcomers to the church he was serving to the Reformed Christian faith.

The HC was written at the request in 1559 of Frederick III of the Palatinate, a region of Germany, and first adopted at the Synod of Heidelberg in 1563. Following this decision, the HC was soon translated into a range of European languages.

The HC is one of “The Three Forms of Unity”, used by many Reformed churches as their doctrinal standards. Faithful Reformed churches continue to use the HC in their second service on the Lord’s Day and as curriculum for teaching their youth the Reformed Christian faith. This volume is part of the Life in Christ series.

Paperback, 232 pages, Binding Spiral, letter size format, work book with questions and assignments about the Heidelberg Catechism, supplemented with Scripture’s proof texts. Each chapter concludes with “Key Words and Concepts” and Endnotes.
